What Our Medics Do
Primary emergency response. Advanced life support, trauma stabilisation, haemorrhage management, and casualty packaging for helicopter evacuation. When a drilling floor accident or a cardiac event happens at 2am on a platform 120 miles offshore, your medic is the emergency department. They need the skills, the equipment, and the clinical backup to manage the situation until the patient reaches definitive care.
Occupational hygiene. Potable water testing, galley inspections, Legionella monitoring, radiation monitoring, and COSHH compliance. These duties are often overlooked by operators focused on the emergency response capability, but they’re a core regulatory requirement and an important part of maintaining a healthy, productive crew.
Safety integration. Working as a core HSE team member, contributing to risk assessments, heli-deck duties, muster coordination, and incident investigation. The medic’s role extends well beyond the sickbay. They’re embedded in the safety infrastructure of the installation, and their effectiveness in this broader role directly affects your operational safety performance.
Workforce welfare. Managing general practice consultations, running health promotion campaigns, dispensing routine medications, and reducing avoidable medevacs through competent onsite treatment. A significant proportion of offshore medical cases are primary care presentations — minor illness, musculoskeletal complaints, skin conditions. That a competent medic can manage without evacuation.
Staffing Capabilities
We supply fully vetted, accredited, and insured medical personnel for both short-term cover and long-term contracts across the UK Continental Shelf and internationally:
Offshore Medics for fixed platforms, drilling rigs, and FPSOs. All hold the HSE Offshore Medic Certificate, current NMC or HCPC registration, and a valid BOSIET/FOET. They are trained in-house, deployed operationally, and backed by our 24/7 topside clinical governance.
Dive Medical Technicians (DMTs) for subsea operations. Qualified to manage the specific medical requirements of saturation and surface-supplied diving operations.
Vessel Medics for marine construction, survey vessels, and dive support vessels. Qualified for the maritime environment with relevant sea survival certification.
Why Partner With Us?
24/7 Topside Support. Every deployed medic is backed by our onshore clinical team. Consultant-level decision support for diagnosis, treatment, medication authorisation, and medevac decisions. This support reduces unnecessary evacuations by up to 40% while ensuring genuine emergencies are escalated immediately.
We carry the clinical liability. When a medic deploys under our badge, the clinical governance responsibility sits with us. Our framework covers supervision, audit, incident review, and continuing professional development for every deployed medic. This gives you an auditable clinical governance trail and transfers the liability from your organisation to ours.
Supply chain certainty. We handle mobilisation logistics, visa management, certification tracking, travel arrangements, and consolidated invoicing. Your operations team focuses on operations. We manage the medical staffing pipeline.
Clinical governance. Our governance framework covers training verification, competency assessment, clinical incident reporting, performance review, and continuing professional development. Every medic’s clinical practice is subject to regular audit and their training records are centrally managed.
Retention and continuity. Where possible, we deploy the same medics to your installations on consecutive rotations. Continuity means your medic knows the asset, knows the crew, knows the operational rhythm, and can provide more effective care as a result.
The Training-to-Deployment Pipeline
We do not recruit medics from agency databases. We train them ourselves through our HSE-approved Offshore Medic Course, assess their competence against our operational standards, and deploy them into our client operations. Every medic who works under our badge has come through this pipeline, which means we can vouch for their training, their capability, and their fitness for the role.
This pipeline also means we can mobilise at scale. When a major project requires rapid workforce expansion, we draw from our pool of trained, deployment-ready medics rather than scrambling for available freelancers.
International Deployment
While our primary operations support the UK Continental Shelf, we deploy medics internationally for clients with global operations. West Africa, South East Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas all feature in our deployment history. International placements require additional logistics, visa management, country-specific certification verification, travel medicine, and local regulatory compliance, all of which we manage as part of the deployment process.
For operators running multi-region portfolios, we provide a single point of contact for medical staffing across all geographies. Consistent governance, consistent quality, and consolidated administration regardless of where the asset is located.
What This Means for Your Business
The cost of deploying an inadequately trained or poorly supported medic is measured in unnecessary medevacs, clinical incidents, regulatory exposure, and the operational disruption that follows. Our training-to-deployment pipeline, backed by 24/7 topside governance, produces measurably lower medevac rates and better clinical outcomes than providers sourcing medics from agency databases.
